What does the Greek word Opa mean? According to some it is a word or pronouncement of celebration; the celebration of life itself. It is another way of expressing joy and gratitude to God, life, and others, for bringing one into the state of ultimate wisdom.
Stacey Lane Bryant has three rules. She doesn’t drive; she doesn’t travel; and she most definitely will not date. I Love this book! It was very realistic. Alot of the interracial stories ive read it made you feel that every one was ok with it the women or man who in the relationship was greeted with open arms and everyone lived happliy ever after. Finding Opa showed the gritty side of dating out your race. It showed how the Heros side did not like her due to her being of another color. I had to reread this story several times and i still love it. SO if you want something realistic and true to what people go through when dating interracially and how if you truly love the one your with then you will have to fight!Product details

Wow! Two people have to face great loss in order to have find great love at a time they needed to, otherwise fall into complete dispare. I loved all of the open and honest conversations and the interaction of all of the characters. This story had all the diversity that life has to offer when you put yourself out there and love. I also really appreciated that it was a Greek culture and Black instead of the traditional prejudice of black and white. It is the person that is of value above all things. Some people learn to see the truth and others decide denial and pride are the only way to survive. The sad thing, you miss out on all of the wonderful beauty there is in the world by staying in a nice, neat, box that has no adventure.
I admit that I was a little put off by the lack of using protection because of how irresponsible it is to bring a child into an unstable relationship; but in the end, it was what was needed for the truths to be told and the love to flow free. This a great piece of writing. I liked the honesty and fire of all the emotions involved in this story of romance that included friends and family. There is a time to be humble and a time to stand up with strength. Both Hunter and Ms. Bryant showed very well and were REAL. Too bad all relationships don't have the strength of honesty and taking a chance; a lot of time would be saved and hearts not so broken. Hurray for Opa!
As a precursor, I have read all of this author work, but for some reason, I hesitant to read this novel. I decided a few days ago to download and read. I was wonderfully surprised that I truly enjoyed this novel. Stacey, an award winning romance writer, suffering from a severe case writer's block, with her second novel due to the publisher in three months. She has become totally introverted after the untimely death of her husband, the love of her life and was now leading a very boring existence... just her and her kitty, Rapture. She meets Hunter, a M.D. who approaches her in a bar, and is not deterred by her requests to leave her alone. After he talks to her and finds out that she is suffering from severe writer's block, he volunteered to be her muse.
Hunter, too, has basically checked out socially and emotionally after the untimely death of his wife, Corina. Stacey and Hunter agree that he would be her muse for the two months needed to complete her next novel. Things take off from there. In each other's care and company, they both experience the healing they both need and love begins to bloom. That's when the drama begins. (No spoilers).
Stacey and Hunter really complemented each other completely. They both realized that they were truly invested in their relationship and both had each other's back. They need this bond to forge forward.
This novel is refreshing and very believable. The characters are very well developed and the deep love they had was always evident. This is a great read, I'm glad I finally read it. I highly recommend this sweet and balanced love story.
Stacey Lane Bryant was an emotional cripple after the accidental death of her astrophysicist husband Drew. She felt responsible for his death and shut off from the world until she met Dr. Hunter Fourakis. She tried hard to shut him down when they met but he ended up helping her with her writer's block instead. I almost fell out of my chair when he turned out to be her OBGyn. I thought I would die laughing at the irony of it.
It turned out that Hunter and Stacey had more in common than she thought. Hunter was also a widower. Together, they managed to heal from their grief and help each other come back to life and feel alive again, something they thought would never happen again, they fell in love with each other. They needed each other. They missed the closeness that they had with their spouses, but this, their love was well worth the wait. With each other, their desire finally returned to full life.
There was only one BIG problem, his family. They were strict culturist Greeks. They can almost expected Hunter to marry a. No one was good enough for their Hunter, including his deceased wife Corina who was Greek but grew up from the wrong side of the tracks. Everyone woman they tried to set him up with was too concerned about appearance and prestige, it made him sick. Stacey was the only thing that was giving him balance in his life. She helped him with the closure he needed with Corina. He did the same with Stacey, by helping with her anxiety surrounding Drew's death.
Latrivi wrote a heartbreaking story that turned into a sweet love story. It was about how people deal with grief in their own ways and how they get normalcy back to their lives with the support of the people they love. I just love how Stacey put his family in check with grace and elegance. With her being a writer having an extended way with words, they did not even realized they were being handled. She just had to let them know that she was more accomplished in her life than they all were put together. She was not an ordinary African American woman let alone an ordinary person. She was Dr. Hunter Fourakis' angel who gave him his HEA and his opa.
